The Gauchos Catering es un emprendimiento familiar, nosotros cocinamos y organizamos los eventos. Juan Jose "El Gringo" Orlandoni empezó a ofrecer sus servicios de asador en el año 2009. Con el tiempo se uñeron sus hijos: Florencia, Giuliana, Juan Cruz y Valentino. Nuestra misión es darles a nuestros invitados un pedacito de la cultura gaucha Argentina en Los Angeles. Ona vez al mes abrimos nuestro hogar para brindarles sabores auténticos, carne de calidad, música en vivo y comunidad. 


The Gauchos Catering is a family run and operated business. Juan Jose "El Gringo" Orlandoni began offering his grilling services in 2009. As time went on, his children: Florencia, Giuliana, Juan Cruz and Valentino joined in. Our mission is to give our guests a slice of our Argentine gaucho culture in Los Angeles. Once a month we open our home to offer authentic flavors, quality meats, live music and community.

Día de Campo: all you can eat asado Argentino

ONE SUNDAY A MONTH 


Día de Campo is not a restaurant— it’s a unique experience where my family prepares an asado a la estaca just like we do in the Argentine countryside.


Start with a classic choripán, then enjoy an all-you-can-eat asado. Ask for your meat just the way you like it, from rare to well-done, and don’t worry — there’s no shortage of chimichurri here!


Our salad bar offers fresh vegetables, pastas, and more to pair with your meal.

Asado a la estaca

Empezamos con una fogata de leña, colgamos la carne en estacas o cruces, primero cocinamos del lado del hueso y vamos dando vuelta la carne.

We start by making a fire, then we hang the meat on "stakes" or "crosses," starting with the "bone" side, and we begin turning it until it's ready.

Cuando van llegando al evento, los invitados se deleitan con el impacto visual de la parrilla. Se escucha el carbón reventar y el aroma del humo y la carne abre el apetito.

As they arrive to the event, the guests become intrigued by the visual presentation of the grill. You can hear the charcoal crackling as the grease drips, and the aroma of meat and smoke opens up your appetite. 

El asado a la estaca es un proceso lento, y que necesita el cuidado constante del asador que atiende el fuego, da vuelta la carne, y cuida al asado de los elementos. Típicamente la carne se cocina por 2-3 horas.

"Asado a la estaca" is a slow process, and it requires the constant care of the "asador," who is tasked with tending the fire, turning the meat, and watching out for the elements. The meat is typically cooked for 2-3 hours.

El resultado es una carne jugosa y tierna con sabor ahumado. En este video observamos cómo la carne de la costilla de res se desprende del hueso.

The result is a piece of meat that is tender and juicy with a smokey flavor. In this video we can see how the short rib meat easily tears off the bone.
